The Tenth Inning has long been recognized as one of the east coast's largest retail and mail order outlets for sports, comics and non-sports

trading cards and memorabilia. Serving many thousands of customers

all over the country, and abroad, the Tenth Inning's selection of rare

sports items, from early tobacco cards to hard-to-find minor league sets, have made it a familiar shopping place for sports collectors and enthusiasts on the hunt for that elusive item. In the mid-80's, the Tenth Inning acquired the world's largest collection of older minor-leaque team sets ever from the TCMA company. Through mail order, the store has lead and been the pioneering force in the growing minor-leaque trading card hobby, serving and educating thousands of customers all over the country and abroad. Established in 1979, the Tenth Inning's retail outlet -- in sunny Hampton, Virginia -- is a favorite of collectors from all over neighboring Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Norfolk and Richmond. It boasts over 50 Showcases of baseball, football, basketball, hockey and non sports cards...and also deals in original movie posters, golden and silver-age comics and vintage sporting magazines.

Tenth Inning owner/operators Don & Carolyn Harrison have also authored and compiled several well-known books on trading card memorabilia, including "The Complete Minor League Checklist Book" "The Tenth Inning Rookie Index" and four editions of "The Cal Ripken Checklist Book." In just a few years, the Cal Ripken book has grown from a personal checklist that the Harrison's used to keep track of their own Cal Ripken collection, to a multi-colored 210 page edition (volume #4) that details literally every piece of Ripken memorabilia produced from 1980 to 1995. The Harrisons have sold thousands of these Ripken Checklist books by mail through the Tenth Inning and they can now be found in other national retail outlets. "The Checklist" has also enjoyed a positive media response: Papers as wide-ranging as "The Baltimore Sun," "USA Today," "Baseball Card Update," "Outside Pitch," and "Tuff Stuff" have reaped praise on the book's exhaustive research (as well as the over-2000 pictures in the book). The Harrisons have also ben profiled in various TV news stories on Cal's record-breaking streak, as well as in various wire-service news articles on the phenomenon.
